Artist's Description
Truck on Rough Road was inspired by a trip I made to the Pryor Mountains (Montana USA) in hopes of photographing some Pryor Mountain Mustangs. During five hours, I only saw three, and decided to head back to the highway and go home (4.5 hours away). The road, complete with ID sign, was more of an old stream bed, and my truck, while a competent 4WD had a 15' wheel base. I crept along, certain the truck was going to fall apart as I eased over boulders and down sloping, steep curves. A tire was finally put out commission by a sharp rock. I thought I'd have to spend the night up there (no cell connection). But I wasn't stranded! A couple I had spoken with several times during my wanderings (and theirs) came along in their ATV and graciously packed me, my camera equipment and overnight bag down the mountain to a friendly town. About Kae Cheatham
I am a visual artist (Kae C's Images) at work a few miles east of the Continental Divide in Montana USA, who produces photographic images, graphic arts, and computer art. I started with SLRs, but since 2002 have embraced the digital era. My photos have been used in many publications, including American Cowboy, Bloodlines, Orion Magazine, Pro Rodeo World (along with my articles), and Royal Wings (an international in-flight magazine). Digital painting and graphic art techniques developed when working with authors to create covers for their books. I apply these skills to many of my images.
