Artist's Description
This paint horse's expression seems to say it would rather be somewhere else rather than in a corral. I took this picture at the beginning of a horse drive, where 75 - 80 equines were being moved from corrals and up a mountainside to an outfitter's ranch. Along the way, this very same horse took off several times to go its own way, and finally had to be roped and ponied for the rest of the trip. I have a picture of it with the rope around its neck and pulled up close to a horse and rider. It's often said that horse faces aren't expressive. Ha!

The bulk of my PHOTOGRAPHY deals with rural enterprise and activities. If you are interested in those subjects (with a western flair) please visit my...
