Description
This white-tailed jackrabbit lives somewhere on my property. She come to the yard in the evenings and munches down the grass. Her two 2019 babies are also coming by.
The white-tailed jackrabbit (which is a hare, not a rabbit) is one of three hares in Montana, and one of the largest hares in North America--it can weigh 6 to 10 pounds. It turns white in the snowy season, except for its black ear tips.
Several have lived near me over the years; one that I named Streak, because of a distinctive mark on her back, was quite friendly and seemed to like sitting near my front porch when music was playing from inside.
