Description
In winter it can be difficult to distinguish Aspen trees from Birch trees. I'm guessing these sturdy trunks belong to Aspens, since the bark doesn't look like it would easily peel. Both of these tree species have distinctive scars on the trunks where limbs have broken off, and the scars resemble eyes.
