Description

The annual spring migration of Snow Geese (and other birds) is a spectacular event. On peak days near the end of March, upwards of 50,000 snow geese settle on the several ponds that make up Freezeout Lake, Montana. Snow geese are monogamous, and they are the largest white geese in North America. They migrate thousands of miles from winter homes to return to northern tundras to breed.
