Description
Looking down onto this 1450 acre primitive state park shows Belt Creek meadering out of Western Montana's distant Belt mountains. The seven-mile trail is evident, too. Early settlers named the area Sluice Boxes because of how the canyon creates chutes and drops in the creek, reminding them of sluice boxes used in mining.
