This antique hay rake is in disuse now, but a century ago it was a crucial part in putting up hay. Pulled by horses or mules, the rake would set up the rows for another team of horses and a collector to push the loose hay onto a beaverslide. It would then be hoisted up and into a large hay pile. In the world of farming, baling hay is true newcomer.
