Artist's Description

I consider this a digital sculpture. I have molded the subject. I start with a rectangle that I filled with colors and patterns. I then push the outside of the rectangle and pull parts of the inside to the outside, to achieve the final subject.
In this, I constructed the tree first, so I could get the push/pull angles correct. I added the textured background once the image was complete.

I am a visual artist (Kae C's Images) at work a few miles east of the Continental Divide in Montana USA, who produces photographic images, graphic arts, and computer art. I started with SLRs, but since 2002 have embraced the digital era. My photos have been used in many publications, including American Cowboy, Bloodlines, Orion Magazine, Pro Rodeo World (along with my articles), and Royal Wings (an international in-flight magazine). Digital painting and graphic art techniques developed when working with authors to create covers for their books. I apply these skills to many of my images.
