Description
While standing at the edge of Holter Lake, created by a dam on the Missouri River, and looking southeast, you can see into the Gates of the Mountain Wilderness area some 30 miles away, where the peaks of the Big Belt Mountains loom snowy against a cloudy sky. Some of the reflections in the recreation lake are blurred by ice, but ducks swim in the open water.
