Description
After a 20 - 23 May winter storm (with 4+ inches of snow and Friday morning temp of 20 degrees), the tulips in my garden were bedraggled. When I cut some of the blooms that could be salvaged, the stems were only 2 - 3 inches. I put them in glass bowl with nourishment, and they survived for several days. Garden tulips that were still in early bud were not as damaged, and I expect to see their color any day now, now that we have regular springtime weather (temps in the 50 - 70 range). I liked the petal detail and shading of of these small-stemmed tulips, so I took this closeup shot.
