Artist's Description
Three ranch workers are sorting calves to be branded on a ranch near Deer Lodge, in Western Montana. I've stylized it for a documentary effect.
This western scene shows a much different picture from the rodeo image of a cowboy chasing a lone calf and catching it with a long rope. The most practical solution is most effective in modern ranch work, where the calves are run into a small pen and quickly caught and taken for branding and medical checks. The cows, meantime are run through a nearby alley and chute for their checkups. Calves and cows are usually reunited with each other in less than 20 minutes. An efficient process when you have more than 300 head of cow/calf duos to check.

The bulk of my PHOTOGRAPHY deals with rural enterprise and activities. If you are interested in those subjects (with a western flair) please visit my...
