Description
The Masonic Lodge in Bannack, Montana dates back to the 1860s when Bannack was the first Montana Territory capital. The first floor was the school, second floor, the Masonic lodge, and the whole building was the center of territory government.
Set along Grasshopper Creek, Bannack, once a raggedy ghost town, has been carefully restored (this building is original) and is now a Montana State Park, with living history programs, reenactments, and magnificent scenery!

Thanks for visiting, Iris. The historical sites draw me not just for the objects, but the information.
