Artist's Description

This abandoned house on a forest slope is near an old Montana mining town of Hassel, and, by the architecture, looks to be from the late 1800s. I took this in autumn, and only saw the building because the leaves had dropped from the hardwood trees. It is barely visible in the summer. For another view of this derelict place see "Abandoned Long Ago." I can't imagine what it was like to come and go from this site. Perhaps the slope has eroded over the yeas to its current steepness.
