Description
Swarms of starlings don't swirl through the air as they do in other parts of the world, but they gather in the autumn in abundant numbers. They also twitter and call to each other in a mesmerizing fashion. It appears they have hypnotized the hawk sitting on the right side of the irrigation equipment; the larger bird only turned his head on occasion as more starlings came in to join the congregation. I watched, listened and took pictures for more than ten minutes, and the hawk never moved. So what ARE those starlings murmuring? :-)
