Wonderful shot. I also found it strange with a second floor door without stairs. However, I've seen these before in old houses. The wood is so old and weathered, you cannot tell there once was a stairway. Nice find! v

Kae Cheatham replied:

Thanks, Mary. I'm a sucker for old wood, anyway, so I see a few of these, too. Your vote is appreciated.

I always find these second floor doors without stairs interesting. My theory it's an escape hatch from deep snows! LOL v

Kae Cheatham replied:

Julie, I never thought of that. And Garnet is in a lotta-snow zone. :)

Love the lines and angles in this. Wonder if it was an old mill and the door was for throwing the sacks of flour out onto the cart? Fascinating. v

Kae Cheatham replied:

Interesting idea, Liz. This was an establishment of some sort--mercantile, I believe. Maybe for doing store shipments. Thanks for the vote.

Very nice Kae. Love all the golden wood and the green from the tree is a nice contrast.

Kae Cheatham replied:

Thanks, Dana.
